Nourishes Dry, Stressed and Undernourished Hair

Modern shampoos, hard water and heat styling strip the natural oils hair needs to stay healthy. Sesame and Coconut base oils deliver fatty acids and vitamin E deep into the hair shaft, restoring moisture, elasticity and shine to dry or damaged strands. Shikakai cleanses gently without stripping, keeping the hair's natural balance intact.

A Traditional Ayurvedic Pre-Wash Ritual

This is an authentic pre-wash treatment, designed to be massaged into the scalp, absorbed over hours, and washed out clean. Six Ayurvedic herbs (Bhringraj, Amla, Fenugreek, Shikakai, Gotu Kola and Rosemary) blended into cold pressed base oils, formulated and bottled in the UK, free from mineral oil, perfume and synthetic additives.
How to Use
  1. Section your hair. Part into sections so the oil reaches the scalp and roots evenly.
  2. Apply to scalp and lengths. Dispense onto your fingertips and work through the scalp, mid lengths and ends.
  3. Massage for five minutes. Use slow, circular motions to stimulate the scalp and boost absorption.
  4. Leave in. Rest for one to two hours, or overnight for deeper nourishment.
  5. Wash out. Rinse with Ayumi Growth Shampoo, and follow with Growth Conditioner if needed.

How often: Twice a week for maintenance. Up to three times a week during periods of shedding, stress or recovery.

Study — Amla on Female Androgenetic Alopecia (Akhbari et al., 2024)

Triple-blind, randomised, placebo-controlled clinical trial published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology. Sixty women with female androgenetic alopecia were randomised to receive either Amla (Phyllanthus emblica) syrup or placebo over 12 weeks, with hair growth parameters measured using TrichoScan analysis. The Amla group showed a statistically significant increase in the anagen-to-telogen ratio compared to placebo (P = 0.002), indicating more hair follicles entered the active growth phase. This is one of the few published human clinical trials supporting an Ayurvedic herb for hair loss.

How often should I oil my hair with this Ayurvedic hair oil?
