Natural Body Wash, Chosen for Your Skin Type
Out of the shower and already reaching for the lotion because your skin feels tight? Or still feeling a bit greasy across your back after you've rinsed? Your wash touches nearly every inch of you, every day, so it pays to pick one that suits your skin. We make three, one for each skin type we hear about most: dull and tired-looking, dry, and oily. Each one is built around a plant with a long history in Ayurveda, and all three come in a 250ml bottle at £7.99. Start with our turmeric body wash if your skin looks a little flat, the Sandalwood wash if it runs dry, or the Neem wash if you like a cool, fresh clean.
What's the Best Body Wash for Your Skin Type?
| Your skin type | Product | Fragrance | Key ingredients |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dull or tired-looking all over | Turmeric & Vitamin C | Citrus | Our vitamin C body wash, with Turmeric root, Papaya, Amla and organic Argan oil, plus Mandarin, Lemon and Lemongrass oils. |
| Dry, rough or sensitive | Sandalwood Relaxing | Warm sandalwood and amber | Our gentlest: the Sandalwood Relaxing wash, with glycerin, Jojoba and Babassu oils, sandalwood, Ylang-Ylang, Patchouli and Lavender. It foams to a soft, creamy lather. |
| Tight after a shower, but not flaky | Sandalwood Relaxing (as above) | Warm sandalwood and amber | The same mild wash suits skin that's short on water. Follow it with a lotion while you're still a little damp. |
| Oily, sweaty or blemish-prone | Invigorating (Neem) | Wild mint and eucalyptus | Our Invigorating Neem wash, with neem leaf extract, organic neem seed oil, organic Tea Tree, Moringa, Nettle, Peppermint and Spearmint. |
| Breakouts across your back after the gym | Invigorating (as above) | Wild mint and eucalyptus | Easy to use straight after a workout. You'll find it with a matching scrub and soap bar in our care for bacne-prone backs (link below). |
Why Choose Our Washes
- Choose by skin type or by fragrance. Citrus, warm sandalwood and amber, or wild mint and eucalyptus. Each range keeps its fragrance across the wash, scrub, lotion and sets, and any of them suits anyone.
- Plants you can name. Turmeric, sandalwood and neem have been used in Ayurveda for centuries, so each Ayurvedic body wash we make starts with one of them. We add plant oils such as Argan, Jojoba and Babassu, and never mineral oil.
- Vegan and PETA certified. Every bottle is a vegan body wash, cruelty-free and PETA certified. If you usually search for a natural shower gel or a vegan shower gel, these do exactly the same job.
- Dermatologically tested and made in the UK. All three washes carry both badges. We're a UK family business and have been making natural products for over 40 years.
- Free UK delivery over £40. Add the matching scrub and lotion from the same range, and you're most of the way there.
How to Use Body Wash, Step by Step
You only need a little, and a shower puff stretches it further still.
| Step | How often | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Wet your skin | Every shower | Use warm water, not hot. A long, very hot shower leaves most skin feeling tight afterwards. |
| 2. Lather and massage | Daily | Squeeze a small amount into your hands or onto a puff and massage over damp skin in circles. Give a little extra time to the sweatier spots: underarms, chest, back and feet. |
| 3. Rinse well | Daily | Rinse with warm water until your skin no longer feels slippy, especially across your back and shoulders, where wash is easy to miss. |
| 4. Scrub | Up to twice a week, as your scrub's label says | Smooth rough patches with an exfoliating body scrub on damp skin after washing. Skip broken, sore, sunburnt or freshly shaved skin. |
| 5. Moisturise | Daily | Pat dry and smooth on a natural body lotion while your skin is still slightly damp. |

What Helps Your Skin Feel Comfortable After a Shower?
- Turn the heat down. Long, very hot showers are lovely in January, but your skin pays for it. Warm water and five to ten minutes is plenty.
- Shower soon after the gym. Sweaty kit pressed against your skin all afternoon is how spots on your back and chest get started.
- Moisturise within a few minutes. Slightly damp skin takes lotion in more easily, so keep the bottle by the shower.
- Patch test something new. All our washes contain essential oils and fragrance, so try a little on your inner arm first, especially if your skin is sensitive.
