Natural Face Scrubs

Dead skin makes skin look dull and stops moisturiser sinking in, but harsh grains can irritate. Our exfoliating face scrub range stays gentle: the turmeric scrub pairs bamboo with papaya enzymes, the Sandalwood face scrub for dry skin uses fine bamboo powder, and the neem face scrub for oily skin also suits blackheads.

Natural Face Scrubs with Bamboo, Matched to Your Skin

Looking for a gentle face scrub that won't leave your skin pink and stinging all evening? You're in good company, and there's an easy fix: fine grains and a light touch. Used that way, the right scrub leaves your skin feeling smooth and looking fresher, and your moisturiser glides on afterwards. Every exfoliating face scrub we make is built on fine bamboo powder, and each one suits a different skin type. Turmeric and papaya help dull, rough skin look brighter. Sandalwood, jojoba and cocoa butter keep dry or easily upset skin comfortable. Neem and French green clay suit skin that gets shiny by the afternoon. Use yours on clean, damp skin, press lightly and let the bamboo do the work.

Which Face Scrub Is Right for You?

Your skinOur scrubWhat's in it and how often
Dull, rough or a bit congestedTurmeric & Vitamin C Brightening Face ScrubOur turmeric face scrub blends bamboo and fine perlite with papaya, amla, vitamin C, shea butter and argan oil. It's made with clinically evaluated CO2-extracted turmeric: in an 8-week study, skin tone looked more even and more radiant. Use it 2–3 times a week.
Dry, tight or easily upsetGentle Face Scrub for Dry & Sensitive SkinOur softest face scrub for sensitive skin: bamboo, perlite and a little sea salt in a creamy base of jojoba, babassu, cocoa butter, aloe and sea kelp, with sandalwood for a warm scent. Use it 1–2 times a week and keep the pressure light, especially on sensitive skin.
Shiny, oily or prone to the odd spotOil Control Face Scrub for Oily & Acne-Prone SkinOur neem scrub pairs bamboo and perlite with French green clay, neem, tea tree, witch hazel, zinc PCA and moringa. The clay soaks up excess oil as it dries on the skin's surface, so your face feels fresh. Use it once or twice a week.

Why Choose Our Bamboo Scrubs

  • Fine bamboo, gently does it. All three use bamboo stem powder with fine perlite, so you get a soft, even polish instead of sharp grit.
  • Made for your skin type. There's a creamy base for dry skin, clay for oily skin, and turmeric with papaya for the days your skin looks tired.
  • Tested, vegan and made in the UK. All three are dermatologically tested and, like everything we make, vegan, cruelty-free, and PETA-certified.
  • Award-winning. Our Oil Control Face Scrub won Gold (Best Anti-Blemish Product) and Silver (Best Cleansing Scrub) at the Universal Beauty Awards 2025.
  • Easy to build around. Each scrub is a weekly step in our Brightening, Hydrating, or Oil Control Face Ritual, available in Duos and Trios in our skincare sets.
  • Good to know. Our Turmeric scrub contains argan oil, shea butter and soybean oil, and our Oil Control scrub contains shea butter. If you have a nut or soy allergy, check the full ingredient list first.

Your Scrub Routine, Step by Step

A scrub works best with a light touch and a bit of patience. Follow the label on yours and keep the rest of your routine simple.

StepHow oftenWhat to do
1. CleanseBefore every scrubWash with your usual face wash and leave your skin slightly damp.
2. Scrub gentlyTurmeric: 2–3 times a week. Gentle: 1–2 times a week. Oil Control: once or twice a week.Massage a small amount over damp skin in light circles with your fingertips, avoiding the eye area. Work around any spots that are raised, sore or broken.
3. Rinse and pat dryEvery timeRinse with lukewarm water until no grains are left, then pat dry with a soft towel.
4. ToneMorning and eveningSweep on a face toner. Most contain a mild acid (glycolic, lactic, or PHA), which works gently throughout the week while the scrub polishes the surface. Patch test the first time you use one.
5. Moisturise, then sunscreenMorning and evening; sunscreen by dayFinish with moisturiser while your skin is still slightly damp. By day, add your favourite broad-spectrum sunscreen, especially in the days after you exfoliate. We don't make an SPF, so use the one you like.

What Helps When a Scrub Leaves Skin Pink or Tight?

A little pinkness that fades within a few minutes is perfectly normal. If it hangs around, these small changes usually help.

  • Go lighter. Use your fingertips and barely any pressure. The grains do the work.
  • Space it out. Stay at the lower end of your scrub's range for a few weeks, then build up once your skin's happy.
  • Skip sore patches. Skip broken, sore, or sunburnt skin, and take a few days off if your face feels tingly or tight. If spots are painful or deep, your GP or pharmacist can help.
  • Moisturise straight after. Applying moisturiser to still-damp skin keeps it soft and comfortable.
  • Keep it steady. A scrub smooths the surface, and your daily wash and moisturiser look after your skin between sessions. Shopping for a blackhead scrub? Our blackheads range puts our neem scrub alongside a daily wash and a clay mask.

Shop our natural face scrubs above. If a tired, flat look is your main worry, see our skincare for dull skin. Searching for a face scrub for oily skin? Our oily skin range pairs our neem scrub with a daily wash, toner and cream.

FAQ

How often to exfoliate face?

Follow the label on your scrub. Our Turmeric scrub is made for 2–3 times a week, our Gentle scrub for 1–2 times a week and our Oil Control scrub for once or twice a week. Leave a day or two between sessions so your skin has time to settle.

How to use face scrub without upsetting your skin?

Cleanse first and leave your skin damp. Take a small amount, about the size of a fingertip, and massage it over your face in light circles, avoiding your eyes. Rinse with lukewarm water, pat dry, then tone and moisturise as usual.

What are the benefits of exfoliation?

Gentle exfoliation polishes away the dry, dull surface layer, leaving your skin smoother and fresher. Moisturiser spreads more easily afterwards, and make-up tends to sit better too. Follow the label on your scrub and keep it gentle.

Can I use a face scrub for sensitive skin?

Yes, if you keep it gentle. Our Gentle scrub's label says to avoid excessive scrubbing, especially on sensitive skin, so start with once a week and use the lightest pressure. It contains essential oils, so patch test on your jawline first. If your skin reacts easily to most things, our range for sensitive skin has more ideas.

Which face scrub for dry skin is gentle enough?

Our Gentle scrub. Its bamboo sits in a creamy base of jojoba, babassu, and cocoa butter, leaving your skin soft and comfortable afterwards. Use it once or twice a week and follow with your moisturiser. For flaky, tight patches between scrubs, our skincare for dry skin has more to help.

Can I use a body scrub on my face?

We wouldn't. Our body scrubs use pumice and olive seed powder, which are made for elbows, knees, and legs, and facial skin is thinner. Save the bamboo for your face.
