Natural Skincare for Dark Spots on Face and Sun Spots
Wondering how to remove dark spots that linger long after the spot itself is gone? You notice it every morning in the bathroom mirror: a small brown mark, right where last month's breakout was. Add a summer outdoors and a scatter of new sun spots across your nose and cheeks, and you have the two most common kinds of dark marks on face. Most fade by themselves, slowly. We make our dark spots products to help that along. All five of our Turmeric products share a clinically tested turmeric active that helps fade the look of dark spots, and our dark spot cream adds Tetrapeptide-30, a clinically evaluated peptide. Our AHA toner, scrub and clay mask look after the surface. Sunscreen is the one step we can't bottle for you, so it gets its own line in the routine below.
Which of Our Products Suits Your Dark Spots?
| Your concern | Product | Key ingredients |
|---|---|---|
| A gentle daily wash for skin with marks | Turmeric & Vitamin C Brightening Face Wash | Our daily face wash pairs turmeric with papaya, amla, argan and vitamin C for a gentle clean, morning and night. |
| Old marks under a rough surface | Turmeric & Vitamin C Brightening Face Scrub | Our exfoliating scrub uses fine bamboo with turmeric, papaya, amla, vitamin C, shea, argan and avocado to smooth the surface over old marks. |
| Post acne marks, and brown spots on face from the sun | Turmeric & Papaya Glow Toner | Our only toner with glycolic acid (an AHA), plus turmeric, papaya, amla, aloe and glycerin. Wear SPF in the day while you use it. |
| A weekly step for marked, tired skin | Turmeric & Vitamin C Glow Clay Face Mask | Our turmeric face mask sets kaolin clay with turmeric, papaya, amla, vitamin C and argan, for once or twice a week. |
| Stubborn dark spots on face | Turmeric & Vitamin C Brightening Face Cream | Our only product with clinically evaluated Tetrapeptide-30, alongside turmeric, papaya, amla, vitamin C, shea, argan and kukui. |
| A toner with no acids | Rose & Glycerin Facial Toner | Our rose water toner with glycerin adds rose geranium and clove oils. It contains alcohol, so it isn't the one for sensitive or very dry skin. |
Why Choose Our Dark Spot Range
- A tested turmeric active. All five of our Turmeric products contain it, and clinical testing is why we say our range helps fade the look of dark spots. Our face cream goes a step further with Tetrapeptide-30.
- Two ways to exfoliate. The bamboo scrub smooths the surface by hand, while the glycolic acid in our toner loosens dead cells without any rubbing, so fresher skin shows through.
- Dermatologically tested and made in the UK. Our wash, toner, scrub, mask and cream all carry both on their product pages. There's no hydroquinone in any of them.
- PETA certified, vegan and cruelty-free. Every one of our dark spots products, from a family business that has been making Ayurvedic care for over 40 years.
- Easier as a set. Our Brightening Face Duo, Trio and Brightening Face Ritual bring the main steps together in one order.
How to Build a Dark Spot Routine
Marks fade slowly. Take a photo in daylight on day one, follow the steps below, and compare after two months.
| Step | How often | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Wash with the Turmeric & Vitamin C Brightening Face Wash | Morning and evening | Our face wash lathers lightly over damp skin. Rinse, and you're ready for the toner. |
| 2. Tone with the Turmeric & Papaya Glow Toner | Morning and evening | Apply with a cotton pad. Patch test first if your skin is sensitive, and skip it on scrub nights if your skin feels tight. |
| 3. Moisturise with the Turmeric & Vitamin C Brightening Face Cream | Morning and evening, after the toner | Our cream's Tetrapeptide-30 and turmeric help fade the look of dark spots. Smooth it over your face and neck. |
| 4. Finish with a broad-spectrum sunscreen (we don't make one) | Every morning, whatever the weather | We put glycolic acid in our toner, and it makes skin more sensitive to the sun. UV also darkens old marks, so make SPF 30 or above the last thing you apply. |
| 5. Scrub with the Turmeric & Vitamin C Brightening Face Scrub | 2–3 times a week | Our scrub needs only a light touch on damp skin. Rinse it off, and work around any spot that is still red or broken. |
| 6. Mask with the Turmeric & Vitamin C Glow Clay Face Mask | 1–2 times a week | Apply a thick layer over clean skin. Leave it for 20 minutes, then rinse. Patch test before first use. |
Key Ingredients in Our Dark Spot Range
| Ingredient | What it does | Where you'll find it |
|---|---|---|
| Turmeric | A staple of Ayurvedic skin care for centuries. Ours is a clinically tested active that helps fade the look of marks with regular use. | All five Turmeric products |
| Tetrapeptide-30 | A clinically evaluated peptide that helps improve the look of dark spots. | Turmeric & Vitamin C Brightening Face Cream only |
| Glycolic acid | An AHA that loosens dead cells on the surface so fresher skin shows through. It raises sun sensitivity, so pair it with SPF. | Turmeric & Papaya Glow Toner only |
| Papaya | A fruit extract that smooths and refreshes the skin. | All five Turmeric products |
| Amla | An Ayurvedic fruit used to nourish the skin. | All five Turmeric products |
| Vitamin C | An antioxidant found in many skin care formulas. If you've been reading up on vitamin c for dark spots, you'll find it in four of our five Turmeric products. | Face wash, scrub, clay mask and cream (not the toner) |
Which Kind of Mark Do You Have?
- Post acne marks. Flat, pink to brown, sitting where a spot used to be. Most acne marks fade on their own over a few months. Picking at a spot makes the mark darker and slows healing.
- Sun spots and age spots. Small, flat brown spots on face, usually on the nose, cheeks, forehead and the backs of your hands. Age spots, sometimes called liver spots, have nothing to do with your liver. They build up over years of sun exposure and tend to darken each summer, so SPF matters most.
- Acne scars. A scar is a dip or raised bump left by a bad breakout. Skincare can't change their shape, so ask a dermatologist.
- A spot that changes. If a mark grows, changes shape or colour, bleeds or itches, see your GP before using any skin care on it.
Why Do Sun Spots on Face Darken in a British Summer?
They don't need a heatwave. UV is strongest here from April to September and gets through clouds, so a grey May day still counts, and a spot that faded over winter can come back darker by August. Keep SPF on through the colder months too if you're using our Glow Toner, because the glycolic acid in it makes skin more sensitive to the sun all year.
If your marks have spread into wider patches, our hyperpigmentation skincare is the better fit. Still getting new spots? Start with our skincare for blemishes, or save on a full routine for dark spots on face with one of our skincare sets.
