Natural Face Wash Matched to Your Skin Type
Still looking for the best face wash for your skin, one that doesn't leave it tight and squeaky the moment you've towelled dry, or shiny again by mid-morning? You're not doing anything wrong. Most of the time, the wash just isn't matched to your skin, and that's easy to fix. A good one leaves your face clean and comfortable, morning and night, and you'll use it more than anything else on your shelf. We make three. Each is a vegan face wash, dermatologically tested and made in the UK. Our turmeric face wash perks up dull, tired-looking skin. Our Sandalwood gel keeps dry, sensitive skin comfortable. And our Neem wash is the one to reach for when your T-zone shines by lunchtime.
Which Wash Suits Your Skin?
| Your skin | Our wash | Why you'll like it |
|---|---|---|
| Dull, tired-looking or a little uneven | Brightening (Turmeric & Vitamin C) | Our Turmeric & Vitamin C Brightening Face Wash, with CO2-extracted Turmeric, Vitamin C (Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, a stable form), Papaya, Amla and organic Argan oil. The citrus scent wakes you up, and skin looks fresher after every wash. |
| Dry, tight or easily upset | Hydrating (Sandalwood) | Our Sandalwood gel cleanser, contains Glycerin, Jojoba and Babassu oils, Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang and Jasmine, plus Black Pepper, Ginger and Cinnamon extracts. It's a soft gel that lathers lightly and leaves your skin comfortable after rinsing. |
| Oily or shiny by lunchtime | Oil Control (Neem & Tea Tree) | Our neem face wash, infused with Neem seed oil, Tea Tree, Witch Hazel, Moringa and Nettle, plus peppermint and eucalyptus for a cool, fresh feel. Skin feels properly clean and stays comfortable. |
| Blackheads and congested patches | Oil Control (as above) | Looking for a face wash for blackheads? Our Neem wash makes a good daily start, and a scrub once or twice a week keeps skin feeling smooth. |
Why Choose Our Cleansers
- One wash for each skin type. Tight, dry skin and skin that turns greasy by noon want different things from a cleanser, so we make one for each, plus our Turmeric wash for days your face looks dull.
- Award-winning Turmeric wash. Our Turmeric & Vitamin C wash won Bronze at the Veggie Awards 2023 (Vegan Skincare) and was shortlisted at The Healthy Awards 2020 (Best Face Care).
- Ayurvedic plants, named on the label. Turmeric, amla, sandalwood and neem have a long history in Ayurveda. We name the key ones up front, and the full ingredient list is on every product page.
- Tested and made in the UK. All three are dermatologically tested and made here, and like everything we make, they're vegan and PETA-certified cruelty-free.
- Easy to build on. Want the matching toner and cream too? Our skincare sets put them together as a Duo or a Trio.
How to Wash Your Face, Step by Step
It takes about a minute. Here's how we'd do it, morning and evening.
| Step | How often | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Wet your face | Morning and evening | Splash with lukewarm water. Very hot water can leave skin feeling tight. |
| 2. Massage in a little wash | Every wash | A small amount is plenty. Work it over your face and neck in gentle circles for 30 to 60 seconds. Our Sandalwood gel label suggests a second cleanse for best results. |
| 3. Rinse and pat dry | Every wash | Rinse well, then pat with a clean towel. |
| 4. Tone | Morning and evening | Sweep on a face toner that suits your skin. |
| 5. Moisturise | Morning and evening | Follow with a face moisturiser, and SPF during the day. |
| 6. Exfoliate | 1–3 times a week | Use a face scrub after washing, on calm skin. Use our Oil Control and Gentle scrubs once or twice a week; use our Turmeric scrub two or three times a week. |
What's Inside Our Cleansers?
| Ingredient | What it does | Where you'll find it |
|---|---|---|
| Turmeric (CO2-extracted) | Ayurveda's golden spice. We use a clinically evaluated extract that, in an 8-week leave-on study, left skin tone looking more even and skin more radiant. | Turmeric wash |
| Vitamin C (Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate) | A stable form of vitamin C that helps tired skin look fresher. | Turmeric wash |
| Papaya and Amla | Fruit extracts with a long Ayurvedic history, for a brighter-looking glow. | Turmeric wash |
| Organic Argan oil | Helps skin feel soft after rinsing. It's a nut oil, so take care if you have a nut allergy. | Turmeric wash |
| Sandalwood, Ylang-Ylang and Jasmine | Warm, floral oils treasured in Ayurveda. They give our Sandalwood gel its soft scent. | Sandalwood gel |
| Jojoba oil, Babassu oil and Glycerin | Help your face feel soft and comfortable after you rinse. | Sandalwood gel |
| Neem and Tea Tree | Neem is Ayurveda's go-to herb for skin that gets shiny and breaks out easily. Tea tree adds a fresh, clean feel. | Neem wash |
| Witch Hazel, Moringa and Nettle | Leave skin feeling clean and toned. | Neem wash |
What Helps When Your Skin Feels Tight or Oily After Washing?
- Notice how your skin feels an hour later. Tight or flaky usually means your wash is too strong for you. A slick T-zone by lunchtime means you'd probably enjoy a fresher, lighter clean.
- Your fingertips are all you need. Flannels and brushes can feel rough on already-dry skin, and clean hands do the job just as well.
- Patch test anything new. All three washes contain essential oils, and our Turmeric wash also has argan oil. Try a little on your inner arm and wait 24 hours.
- Keep it out of your eyes. If it does get in, rinse well with water. Give any broken or sore patches a miss for now.
- Give it a couple of weeks. Swap your wash, then wait two weeks before you add anything else, so you'll know what's working.
